Jean-Louis Soberano

Born in Marseille to a French father and a Catalan mother from Barcelona, Jean-Louis Soberano grew up on both shores of the Mediterranean. He earned his French Yacht Master licence in 2009 and his Spanish Patrón de Yate in 2012, before settling permanently in Valencia in 2014.

Over the past 18 years he has sailed more than 65,000 nautical miles, captained over 1,200 private charters, and coordinated more than 200 weddings, anniversaries and corporate events at sea — from intimate catamaran outings in the Albufera natural park to month-long expeditions across the Balearic Islands. He founded BoatParty Valencia in 2019 to make this expertise accessible to international clients, and personally oversees every event briefing.

When he is not at the helm, Jean-Louis writes about Mediterranean sailing, contributes to French and Spanish nautical publications, and trains the next generation of skippers through the Real Club Náutico de Valencia. He works fluently in French, Spanish, English and Catalan.
