Wakeboarding in Valencia — Ride Behind a Real Wakeboat

Step on a board for the first time or land your first 360. Professional instructor, modern wakeboat with custom ballast, all gear included. Sessions from 30 minutes.

Wakeboarding Valencia — From First-Timer to Air-Trick

Private wakeboat sessions on the calm Mediterranean off Marina Real Juan Carlos I.

Wakeboarding in Valencia is one of the most underrated watersports on the Costa del Azahar. The Mediterranean off Marina Real is usually flat-calm in the morning — perfect conditions for setting a clean wake. Our wakeboat is built for the sport: deep V hull, custom ballast bags, tower with a pylon, and a state-of-the-art surf system. You ride in clear turquoise water with the Valencia skyline as your backdrop.

Whether you have never stood on a board or you are working on your first inverts, our sessions are private and tailored. We typically take groups of 2 to 5 friends — everyone rides, everyone watches each other rip, and we rotate so you never get tired. All sessions include a calm-water warm-up area, video coaching on the boat, and as many resets as you need.

Never tried wakeboarding? You will stand up on your first session.

Our instructors specialise in first-timer success. The technique is simpler than it looks — keep your arms straight, knees bent, and let the boat pull you up. We start in a sheltered cove with calm water, demonstrate on the swim platform, and use a shorter rope (12 m) so the wake is gentle. Most beginners are standing inside 10 minutes.

Children from 8 years old can wakeboard safely with our smaller boards and float vests. Minimum age for unsupervised standing is generally 12; younger children ride with the instructor in a kneeboarding setup first. We always run the boat at a moderate speed for beginners (around 25 km/h) — fast enough to plane, slow enough not to intimidate.

If you have been riding for years, our boat is set up for advanced tricks. We can dial in the ballast for a perfectly shaped wake, deploy the surf system for surfing the wake without a rope, and run at 33-37 km/h depending on your board and weight. The skipper knows where to find glassy water even on busy summer days.

We work on whatever you want to land: surface tricks, grabs, 180s, 360s, raleys, tantrums. Our instructor films from the tower for a clean angle and can give detailed feedback between every set. Bring your own bindings if you have them — saves rigging time.

What Our Riders Say

Recent feedback from our wakeboard sessions in Valencia.

Booked a 30-min taster for my partner who had never tried wakeboarding. Instructor was patient, she stood up on the third try, and we ended up adding another hour. Best 240 EUR we spent in Valencia.

We are a group of 4 friends from Milan, all intermediate riders. The boat is dialed in, the captain finds glassy water, and the coach actually knows what he is talking about. Landed my first 180 here.

Highly recommend the half-day. Felt like a proper coaching camp — video review, real progression. Already booked again for next summer.

Wakeboarding Valencia — Frequently Asked Questions

Not at all. Around 60 percent of our riders have never wakeboarded before. We start with a 5-minute briefing on the swim platform, demonstrate the body position, and put a shorter rope (12 m) for your first attempts. Most first-timers are standing within 10 minutes. If you can swim and you are reasonably fit, you will succeed.

8 years old for kneeboarding with an instructor. 12 years old for standing wakeboarding with a parent or guardian on the boat. The minimum weight is around 25 kg so the board planes properly. We have child-sized boards, vests, and helmets.

Up to 5 riders rotate on a single session. Everyone rides, then we switch — typical sets are 5-10 minutes per rider, so a 30-minute session gives each of 4 riders 2-3 sets. For groups larger than 5, we run consecutive sessions or use 2 boats.

We depart from Marina Real Juan Carlos I (the main port of Valencia, next to the City of Arts and Sciences). It is 10 minutes by taxi or 25 minutes by bus from Valencia city centre. Free parking is available at the marina car park. We will send you the exact meeting point and a Google Maps pin in your confirmation email.

Just a swimsuit, a towel, and sunscreen. We provide the board, vest, helmet (optional), rope, and a dry bag for your phone and keys. Sunglasses with a strap are useful. If you have your own bindings, bring them — saves setup time.

Wakeboarding requires reasonably flat water. If the wind exceeds 15 knots or there are big swells, we will move your session earlier (typical morning calm) or reschedule for free. Valencia has more than 300 sunny days per year, so cancellations are rare.

Both. Our instructor can teach anything from your first edge transfer to advanced tricks like 360 spins, raleys, and grabs. If you are advanced, tell us in the booking notes what you are working on and we will set the boat speed and ballast accordingly.

Yes. Our boat has a full surf system (Volvo Forward Drive with surf shaper) and we keep both wakeboards and wakesurfers on board. Just ask the instructor at the start of the session — many groups switch between the two during the same booking.
