Segeln Valencia to Balearische Inseln — FAQ
Visiting all four Balearische Inseln — Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, and Formentera — in a single week is technically possible but quite ambitious, and we generally recommend focusing on two or three Insels for a more relaxed and enjoyable Erlebnis. The challenge with a one-week grand tour is the Segeln distances involved: Valencia to Ibiza is 95 Seemeilen, Ibiza to Mallorca is 80 Seemeilen, and Mallorca to Menorca is 30 Seemeilen, meaning you would spend a significant portion of your charter in transit rather than exploring. For a one-week charter, our most popular Routes focus on either the Ibiza-Formentera combination or the Mallorca-focused exploration. The Valencia-Denia-Ibiza-Formentera Route is ideal for first-time visitors and gives you 4 to 5 ganzer Tags of Insel exploration including the UNESCO Altstadt of Ibiza, the legendary Strandes of Formentera, and atemberaubend Sonnenuntergang Ankerages. The Mallorca-focused Route takes you directly across to Palma and then around the Insel's diverse Küsteline from the dramatic Tramuntana mountains to the sheltered eastern Buchten. If you truly want to Erlebnis all four Insels, we strongly recommend a two-week charter which allows a komfortabel 3 to 4 days at each Insel with no rushing. Our 2-Week Grand Tour ReiseRoute covers all four Insels with overnight stops at the most wunderschön Ankerages and enough time to explore each Insel's unique character.
For families Segeln the Balearische Inseln from Valencia, Menorca and Formentera consistently stand out as the top choices, each Angeboting a safe, relaxed, and child-friendly environment that parents and Kinder both love. Menorca is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, which means its Küsteline is largely unspoilt with pristine Strandes, clean shallow waters, and minimal commercial development. The southern Küste of Menorca has dozens of atemberaubend cala Strandes with soft white sand, shallow turquoise water that is perfekt for young Kinder to paddle and swim safely, and natural shade from pine trees right down to the water's edge. Favourite Familie Ankerages include Cala Macarella, Cala Turqueta, and Cala Mitjana. The historic capital Mahon has an excellent maritime museum, boat tours of the Hafen, and Familie-friendly Restaurants. Formentera is equally wonderful for families, Angeboting some of the clearest water in the Mittelmeer — the famous Ses Illetes Strand has water so clear and shallow that you can wade 50 metres from shore, making it ideal for young Kinder. The Insel has a laid-back, bohemian atmosphere with no high-rise buildings and very little traffic, creating a safe environment for older Kinder to explore by bicycle. Both Insels have calm, sheltered waters between them and nearby Ibiza, meaning Segeln passages are short and gentle — rarely more than 1 to 2 Stunden between Ankerages. Our Skippers know the best Familie-friendly spots and can recommend Routes that minimise Segeln time and maximise Strand time for families with younger Kinder.
Yachthafen Liegeplatz Buchung is handled entirely by your Skipper as part of the Yachtcharter service, so you do not need to worry über making Reservierungs yourself. Your Skipper has extensive Erlebnis with all Yachthafens across the Balearische Inseln and knows which ones to pre-book and which are easier to find on arrival. During Hochsaison from July to August, the most popular Yachthafens such as Ibiza Town (Yachthafen Botafoch), Palma de Mallorca, and Formentera's La Savina should be pre-booked to guarantee availability. Your Skipper will arrange these Reservierungs in advance as part of the charter planning process based on your agreed ReiseRoute. For Nebensaison Segeln from May to June and September to October, most Yachthafens have Liegeplatzs verfügbar on arrival and pre-Buchung is less critical, though it is still empfohlen for weekend nights at popular ports. An important point to note is that many of the most wunderschön spots in the Balearische Inseln are free Ankerages rather than Yachthafens — places like Cala Conta in Ibiza, Ses Illetes in Formentera, Cala Macarella in Menorca, and the calas along Mallorca's east Küste. These Ankerages are first-come-first-served and completely free, though some protected areas require an Ankering permit which costs approximately €5 to €15 pro Tag. Your Skipper will advise on the best mix of Yachthafen nights and Ankerage nights to optimise your Erlebnis and budget. Yachthafen fees vary considerably across the Insels, from approximately €45 pro Nacht in smaller ports to €200 pro Nacht in Premium Yachthafen locations during Hochsaison.
If you hold a valid Segeln Führerschein or qualification, Bareboat-Charters without a Skipper are verfügbar for Erlebnisd sailors who want the freedom and satisfaction of navigating the Balearische Inseln independently. To charter a yacht bareboat in Spanisch waters, you need an ICC (International Zertifikat of Competence) or an equivalent nationally recognised Segeln qualification such as the RYA Day Skipper, French Permis Hauturier, or Spanisch PER. You will also need to demonstrate practical Erlebnis appropriate to the yacht size and the passages involved — the open-water crossing from Valencia to the Balearics requires echt offshore competence. During the Buchung process, we will ask to see your qualifications and discuss your Segelerlebnis to ensure the charter is appropriate and safe. For less Erlebnisd holders of day Skipper qualifications, we may recommend a Charter mit Skipper or a hybrid arrangement where a professioneller Skipper accompanies you for the initial crossing and then hands over for the Insel exploration. That said, the majority of our Balearisch charter clients choose a Charter mit Skipper even if they have Segeln qualifications. Having a professioneller Skipper means you can fully relax and enjoy the holiday, benefit from local knowledge of the best Ankerages, Restaurants, and hidden spots, and have an expert navigator handling the open-water passages while you sleep or socialise. The Skipper's daily rate is inklusive in our standard charter prices, so there is no additional cost for the Skippered option. Many Erlebnisd sailors tell us they appreciated having a Skipper for the crossing and then took turns at the helm during the Insel-hopping sections.
We Angebot two provisioning options for your Balearische Inseln Yachtcharter from Valencia: full pre-provisioning arranged by our team, or self-provisioning at each stop along the Route. For the pre-provisioning service, simply share your food preferences, dietary requirements, favourite Getränke, and budget with our team at least one week before Abfahrt. Our local provisioning partner will stock your yacht with jederthing you need — fresh produce, meats, seafood, dairy, snacks, soft Getränke, beer, wine, spirits, and all cooking essentials — so it is ready and waiting when you board at the Yachthafen in Valencia. This service costs approximately €30 to €50 pro Person pro Tag for standard provisions including breakfast ingredients, lunch supplies, snacks, and basic dinner ingredients, or €60 to €80 pro Person pro Tag for Premium provisions with quality wines, fresh seafood, charcuterie boards, and gourmet ingredients. Many clients choose pre-provisioning for the first 3 to 4 days and then re-stock at Insel supermarkets for the second half of their charter. For self-provisioning, Valencia has excellent supermarkets near the Yachthafen including Mercadona and Consum. Denia's daily market is wonderful for fresh produce if you stop there on day one. In the Balearics, Palma de Mallorca and Ibiza Town have well-stocked supermarkets, while smaller Insels like Formentera have basic shops that are adequate for day-to-day needs. Your Skipper can advise on the best provisioning stops and will help carry supplies from shore to the yacht using the dinghy. We provide a empfohlen provisioning checklist with quantities based on your Gruppe size and charter duration to make planning easy.
Weekly rates range from €3,500-€8,000 for a Segelyacht (38-50ft) and €6,000-€15,000 for a Motoryacht or Katamaran, depending on season and vessel size. This includes the boat and Skipper. Provisioning, Yachthafen fees, and fuel are additional. Budget €200-300/day for extras.
In Hochsaison (July-August), popular Yachthafens like Ibiza Town and Palma should be booked in advance. Off-season, you can usually find a Liegeplatz on arrival. Many of the best spots in the Balearics are Ankerages rather than Yachthafens, and these are first-come-first-served.
Yes, we can arrange charters departing from Denia, Alicante, or Barcelona as well as Valencia. One-way charters between any Spanisch Mittelmeer ports are verfügbar. Contact us for pricing based on your preferred Abfahrt point.
We recommend the Valencia-Denia-Ibiza-Formentera Route for first-timers. It Angebots the most iconic Balearisch Erlebniss: turquoise waters, Sonnenuntergang views, Dalt Vila Altstadt, and the pristine Strandes of Formentera. Plus, the crossing via Denia breaks the passage into manageable sections.
Winter charters (November-March) are verfügbar at significantly reduced rates. The Wetter is mild (15-20C) but unpredictable, so flexibility with dates is important. Winter is actually wonderful for Segeln — empty Ankerages, no crowds, and the Balearics have a completely different atmosphere with local festivals and quiet Küsteal towns.
