Yes — birthdays are the most mixed groups we carry, and the format handles it beautifully. The bay of Alicante is sheltered, the skipper keeps speeds gentle when the crowd calls for it, and life jackets in children's sizes are on board as standard. Swim stops happen at anchor in calm coves, so younger swimmers go down the ladder into flat, clear water with the boat as their base. For older guests the appeal is simpler: a comfortable seat, a changing view, and no stairs once aboard. Tell us the age range when you book and we will match the boat and the route to it.

Happily — surprises on boats work unusually well, because the guest of honour cannot see the venue until the last moment. The usual play: the group gathers on the Explanada for an innocent walk, turns into the Marina Deportiva, and finds a decorated boat with everyone's favourite people already aboard. We coordinate timings with your co-conspirators, keep the decorations invisible from the pontoon approach where possible, and hold the music until the reveal. It has never once failed to land.

All three. The cake travels in our cool storage until its moment — which we stage at anchor, in flat water, where candles actually stay lit. Food-wise, bring a picnic or let us arrange catering from simple nibbles to a proper spread. Drinks: load the coolers with your own, or have us stock the boat; the Celebration and VIP packages include an open bar, and we are just as happy stocking an all-ages boat with juice and horchata. Only house rule worth naming: minimal glass on deck.

Yes — a swim stop is built into every cruise of three hours or longer. Spanish coastal rules keep boats out of the buoyed bathing areas along the beaches, so instead the skipper anchors in the rocky coves off Cabo de las Huertas, over clean sand and outside the marked zones, where the water is clearer and your group has it to itself. The ladder goes down, floats and snorkels come out, and the boat becomes the best diving platform on the coast. On the way back everyone dries off on deck with a drink in hand.

It is, and it may be the best-kept birthday secret in the province. Everyone knows Hogueras, the big fiesta of 20–24 June — street parties, mascletàs at Plaza de los Luceros, bonfires at midnight on the 24th. But the show for boats comes after: on the nights of 25–29 June the city holds its international fireworks competition, fired at midnight over the seafront. From the deck, in the dark bay, you get the full display doubled in its own reflection with the lit-up city behind — an unrepeatable end to a birthday. If yours falls in late June, say so when you enquire and we will build the evening around it. Book early; those five nights are the first in the calendar to go.

Yes, with the right vessel. Twelve passengers is the legal threshold at which a boat is classed as a passenger ship under Spanish and international rules — a certification line, not a party limit, and the crew are not counted in it. For bigger birthdays we arrange boats certified for larger numbers, and for really big ones a pair of boats cruising together turns the headcount problem into a feature. The larger boats are the scarcest on the coast, so give us your numbers as early as you can.

Depends on the shot you want. The famous Cara del Moro — the Moor's face in the Benacantil cliff above Postiguet — catches the light in the morning and around midday, so daytime cruises own that photo. In the evening the castle takes handsome side-light rather than a golden full-frontal glow, and from the Cabo de las Huertas side you get a clean silhouette of the whole rock instead — arguably the better picture. And once darkness falls, the castle's floodlights come on, which turns the final run into the marina into its own photo stop. A late-afternoon charter that comes home at dusk collects all three.

The skipper makes the call and safety beats the schedule, birthday or not. If conditions would be unsafe or simply no fun, you choose between moving to another date and a full refund. That said, the bay is sheltered and the Alicante summer is dependable — a marginal forecast usually means the skipper adapts the route rather than cancels, and true wash-outs are rare. For birthdays with a fixed date and travelling guests, we will talk you through the forecast a couple of days out so nobody is surprised.

For a birthday that wants a proper voyage, yes — but hear the honest version first. Tabarca is a marine reserve about ten nautical miles out, boats in transit through it must hold between 6 and 10 knots, and anchoring there is banned outright; its tiny port only takes boats up to 10 metres, so a charter our size cannot lawfully stop. What works is a full-day trip: cruise out, circle the island slowly with lunch on deck, then come home and swim in the bay where anchoring is allowed. It does not squeeze into an afternoon slot, so for most birthdays we suggest the classic bay cruise — and Tabarca for the next milestone.

For summer weekends, as soon as the date is fixed — birthday groups tend to want specific dates, unlike holidaymakers who can flex, so they feel the squeeze first. The tightest windows are July and August Saturdays and the late-June fireworks nights. Spring and autumn are far kinder: better boat choice, softer prices, and Alicante's weather still very much on side. Bigger groups needing passenger-certified boats should add extra lead time again. Worst case, ask anyway — cancellations happen and we keep a waiting list.
