Chartering a yacht in Ibiza

Your own deck, your own group, and Formentera's water on the doorstep.

Yacht charter in Ibiza starts from about €4,400 a summer day for a motor yacht, and we have plenty of yachts at every price: catamarans from about €1,000, upper-end motorboats from about €1,150 and gulets from about €1,990. Send your date, your group and the day you have in mind, and prices and available yachts come back within 2 hours in business hours, free and with no obligation.

Off-season, motor yachts start from about €2,300 a day. Want deck space above all? A catamaran gives the same 12 guests room to spread out for roughly a fifth of the motor yacht median of about €6,000. Whatever you choose, the whole yacht is yours, with one price for the boat and no strangers aboard.

Then it's about the day: Formentera about 12 nautical miles (NM) from Botafoch, Es Vedrà rising 382 metres out of the sea, the west coast at sunset. Your skipper is included, nobody needs a licence, and each offer shows the yacht, the marina and what's on board, so you can compare and choose.

Which marina, and where a yacht day goes

Distances are one way and approximate, and the track is your skipper's call.

Marina Ibiza

425 berths and room for yachts up to 110 m, so size is never a problem for a day charter. It lies across the harbour from Ibiza's old town, which makes for a memorable way to start and finish the day.

Marina Botafoch and Ibiza Magna

The other marinas on Ibiza town's harbour, both with the old town in view. Each offer names the marina, so your group knows exactly where to meet.

Sant Antoni

245 berths run by Ports IB and another 400 by the yacht club, with charter a listed service. Start here for the west coast and a quiet evening with the sun going down over the water.

A Formentera day

About 12 NM from inside Marina Botafoch to La Savina, so about 24 NM return, with official buoy zones at Caló de s'Oli and Bahía de s'Alga. Turquoise water, pale sand and lunch on deck: this is the yacht day people fly in for.

An Es Vedrà day

About 16 NM from Ibiza town along the south coast. You can circle the 382-metre rock without a permit and anchor over clear sand nearby. Few sights in the Mediterranean look better from a yacht.

Playa de Ses Salines

The official buoy field on the Ibiza side, inside the Natural Park at the south end of the island, and a short run from town. Tie up, swim and be back in the harbour by evening.

What a yacht day includes

Say what you want on board, and each offer shows what's in the price.

Every offer starts with the yacht and a skipper. Beyond that, you decide. Ask for extra crew, catering, a tender or water toys, and each reply tells you what the yacht carries and what the day costs with it. That way you compare like with like and choose with the full picture.

Your route is yours to shape. Formentera and back is about 24 NM from Botafoch, and Es Vedrà and back from Ibiza town is about 32 NM. Stay in the bay for a slow day or make the long run at speed, and put the plan in your request so the fuel for that route is part of the price you see.

Length buys space. A 15 m yacht and a 35 m yacht both take up to 12 guests, so a larger boat means more decks, more shade and more room for the same group. Fourteen of you? Take a second yacht and meet at the anchorage.

Good to know

Twelve guests at any length

Every charter yacht here takes up to 12 guests, with crew and babies under one on top, so the whole group fits comfortably and a larger party simply adds a second yacht.

The yacht is entirely yours

One booking, one group, no places sold to strangers. You set the pace from the first swim to the final drink.

Your skipper finds the anchorage

A big yacht lays more chain, so your skipper looks for clear sand, a buoy or the next bay along. You get the swim stop, and someone else does the work.

When to charter

May to October is the charter window, with an August average high of 30.3 °C at Ibiza airport, when a shaded deck and a swim ladder are all anyone needs. For the sun going down over the sea, ask for a west-coast evening off Sant Antoni or Cala Comte.

Motor yachts have a real off-season saving: the median falls to about €4,100 a day, against about €6,000 in summer. If your date can move, send two and see the difference. Popular weekends go early in high summer.

Yacht rental in Ibiza: questions

Send your date, group and the kind of day you want. Available yachts and prices arrive within 2 hours in business hours, and the yacht you choose is yours for the day.

Yes. You pay nothing to ask and you aren't committed to anything. The only payment is for the yacht you choose.

No, because a skipper comes with every offer. Taking a yacht out yourself would mean showing a licence sufficient for that boat, so mention it in your request if you hold one.

From about €4,400 a summer day for a motor yacht, with a median of about €6,000, and from about €2,300 off-season, on public listings. Catamarans start from about €1,000. It's one price for the whole yacht, and your offer shows the full figure for your date with the skipper on board.

Professional skippers from local charter companies, along with whatever crew each yacht carries.

Up to 12, with crew on top, at any length. That means even a modest yacht can carry a full group, and a larger one simply gives them all more room.

Take two yachts. Each carries up to 12 guests under its own booking, and you can meet at the anchorage for lunch and a swim.

Mostly Ibiza town's harbour: Marina Ibiza, with 425 berths and room up to 110 m, plus Marina Botafoch and Ibiza Magna. Sant Antoni is the west-coast alternative. Your offer names the marina.

Yes, it's the favourite yacht day. La Savina is about 12 NM from inside Marina Botafoch: at 20 knots, a little over half an hour each way. Your skipper takes an official buoy where there's a field, or anchors over sand.

Yes, on the west coast: the sun sets over open water off Sant Antoni and Cala Comte in season. Ask for it when you send your date, because that means a west-coast route or a Sant Antoni start.
