Choosing your yacht in Mallorca

Twelve guests at any length, so every extra metre goes on comfort, range and deck space.

Yacht charter in Mallorca starts from about €2,860 a summer day for a motor yacht, and we have plenty of yachts at every price: catamarans from about €980 and sailing boats from about €445 for a gentler day, with larger crewed yachts priced on request. Send your date and guest list, and within 2 hours in business hours you have prices and available yachts, free and with no obligation.

Every extra metre goes to your group, because a yacht here takes up to 12 guests at any length. Crew come on top. So a longer yacht means more shade, more deck and more room for everyone to find their own corner. Pricing is equally simple: one figure for the whole boat, by the day, never per guest.

Tell us what matters on board, whether that's cabins, a galley, a tender or water toys, and each offer shows what its yacht carries. The skipper is included, nobody in your group needs a licence, and your day runs on your schedule, from the first swim to the last drink at anchor.

Which marina for which yacht

Figures come from the marinas and the port authority.

Club de Mar, Palma

More than 500 berths and room for yachts up to 170 m, so length is never the limit here. It's the pick for a group that wants Palma's restaurants at the end of the day. Cabrera is about 28 nautical miles (NM) away.

Real Club Náutico de Palma

Palma's yacht club, also right on the city waterfront. A classic place to step aboard, with the old town and the cathedral a short way along the shore.

Port Adriano

It takes boats of 6 to 80 m on 487 berths, and charter companies appear in its own directory. Port d'Andratx is about 9 NM on, and just off the port the sun sets over open water from May to mid-September.

Port d'Andratx

About 4 NM from Dragonera, with an open-sea sunset just outside the port in season. Few places give a yacht a better last hour of the day. Name it in your request and the replies confirm where you board.

Alcudiamar, Alcúdia

745 berths up to 30 m, with charter among the purposes on its check-in form. The bay looks east or north-east, which makes it a superb choice for slow mornings at anchor.

Port de Pollença

611 berths run directly, 90 of them for transit, and another 375 run by the Pollença Yacht Club, with charter services listed by Ports IB. A relaxed northern base, right next door to Alcúdia.

Port de Sóller

465 berths, 164 for visiting boats, with charter on the Ports IB services list. This is how a yacht starts on the north-west coast: the Tramuntana right outside the harbour and open sea on the sunset line in season.

Cala d'Or and Portocolom

Your east-coast options, both on the Ports IB map. Say the length you'd like, and the replies show what can board there for a day among the coves.

Cabrera on a larger yacht

A national park of 90,794 hectares, and the day a fast yacht was made for.

Cabrera is about 28 NM from Palma, about 1 hour 25 each way at 20 knots, and this is where a fast yacht earns its fuel. Your skipper handles the park's free navigation permit, which runs for a year, and moors on a buoy sized for your yacht. Boats up to 15 m use the free day buoys at Es Burrí, sa Coveta Roja and el Port.

Staying over? The park publishes reserved overnight buoys by length, up to 35 m. From May to September the daily fee is €18.60 up to 12 m, €40 for 12 to 15 m, €90 for 15 to 20 m and €275 for 20 to 35 m, falling to €9.30, €20, €35 and €105 from October to April. Stays run to two nights in July and August and seven in the rest of the year.

Guests step ashore at the main pier in el Port or the pier at Cas Pagès, by tender, so ask for a yacht that carries one. Cabrera is a place for a quiet group and a long swim: a whole archipelago, with the crowds far behind you.

Good to know

Twelve guests, at any length

A 30 m yacht and a 12 m one take the same guest list of up to 12, with crew on top. Babies under one don't count. Bigger party? A second yacht under its own booking does the job.

A longer yacht needs more room at anchor

A long yacht on a long chain sweeps more seabed, so your skipper looks for a bigger patch of clear sand or a buoy. It's all part of the service, and you just enjoy the view.

No licence needed

Your skipper drives, anchors and handles any permits, so nobody in your group needs a licence, even on the largest yacht.

Best months for a yacht in Mallorca

Yacht season follows the long, warm days: an average high of 29.8 °C at Palma's port in August, and sunsets over open sea off the west coast from May to mid-September. A summer yacht day can run from a morning swim at Dragonera to dinner back in Palma.

Prices ease outside summer: motor yachts start from about €2,500 a day off-season, and catamarans fall from about €980 to about €400. Cabrera's overnight buoy fees at least halve from October to April. For a multi-day trip, ask for the total, and the replies show what your dates really cost.

Professional skippers from local charter companies, joined by any further crew the yacht needs.

A skipper, plus any further crew the yacht needs, and then it depends on the boat: cabins, galley, tender, water toys. Ask for what matters to your group in your request, and each offer states what its yacht carries.

Yes, with two yachts. Each takes up to 12 guests at any length, so a bigger party books a second yacht and the two meet up on the water.
